    Possibly. However they do also regularly change the headlines in each item as well, if you follow their RSS feed you'll see the same story pop up multiple times as the headline is changed; perhaps it's a carry over from that?

    Maybe... i mean, if you mean that maybe the title has changed it's a bit odd to have had the "MAp" bit in a title at any time.

    interesting. ive seen it on some other stories aswell on smh that adopt the same thing.

    i dont think its some sort of automated semantic tool feature (haha that would be smart as!). but most probably a way for SEO
